Conditional Menus

Description

Conditional Menus is a simple yet useful WordPress plugin by Themify, which allows you to swap the menus in the theme as per specific conditions. In short, you can have different menus in different posts, pages, categories, archive pages, etc. It works with any WordPress theme that uses the standard WordPress menu function.

How to use it

Once you activate the plugin, you will see the conditional menus on the Manage Locations tab located in your WP Admin > Appearance > Menus page.

1) To add conditional menu: click “Conditional Menu” and select a menu from the list (you can create these menus in the “Edit Menus” tab)
– You can remove the menu by selecting “Disable Menu” from the list.
2) Click on “+ Conditions” to add conditions in the modal box (tick the checkboxes where you want the menu to appear)
3) To remove the conditional menus, click on the “X” button

I was considering opening subdomains for a client website who had a grouped business offering. This was my saving grace as client wasnt willing to spend a lot of money on subdomains and set up. Wonderful stuff from themify Definitely stuck with you guys for life now

This just delivers what I needed. I wanted to create a micro site under the main site and Conditional Menus gave me the tool to do this. I had a minor issue setting up the second menu I wanted to use. Initially I had to use two sets of conditions to show this second menu, rather than control it from one set of conditions. I corresponded with the developer who offered to take a look but I ended up resolving the issue, still not sure how. But its works! A bit nervous that it is not reported to work under version 5.8.2 but it seems to.

The Conditional Menus plugin allows us to combine three sub-domains into one domain, saving our organization hundreds of dollars in hosting costs. We couldn't proceed without it!

I use the plugin to to switch languages. Have 3 language options in the secondary menu, and then sort the primary menu according to page categories. Liteweight and works perfectly. IMHO much better than the commonly used language plugins.
