This plugin places the widget on every front-end page of your site. Paste in your Business ID and save — that’s the whole setup. Optionally, it can also let the chat answer using your own pages and posts. Add a Site Key from your dashboard, choose which content types to include, and the plugin sends the title, summary, link and featured image of your published content to chatcobalt. com so the AI can answer from it and link visitors to the right page. This is off unless you turn it on. * No theme editing, no code snippets to paste * Automatically matches the chat bubble to your brand color * Optional: pick your own color instead * Optional: customize the first message visitors see * Optional: show the widget in the bottom-left corner instead of bottom-right #### Requires an account This plugin only places the widget — the chat itself, the AI, and your dashboard all live at chatcobalt.com. Full Terms of Service: [https://www.chatcobalt.com/terms](https://www.chatcobalt.com/terms). ### Privacy When you save a Business ID in the settings screen, this plugin makes one request from your site to `https://www.chatcobalt.com/api/widget-config` to confirm the ID and read back your business name and brand color. It sends only the Business ID you entered, and only when you click Save changes. Once configured, this plugin loads a script from chatcobalt.com on every page of your site so the chat widget can appear. That script: * Sends visitor chat messages to the server so the AI can generate a reply. * If a visitor voluntarily shares contact details (name, email, phone) during the conversation, that information is stored in your account so you can follow up. * Does not run or track anything before a visitor actually opens and uses the chat widget. If you enable “Answer with your content” by adding a Site Key and selecting content types, the plugin also sends your published content to `https://www.chatcobalt.com/ api/wp/sync` — specifically the title, summary or excerpt, permalink, featured image URL and post type of each item, for the content types you chose. It runs when you click Sync now, and again when you publish or update a matching item. Only published, publicly visible content is sent: drafts, private and password-protected items are excluded. Removing your Site Key stops it. No visitor data is stored by this plugin itself, or in your WordPress database — everything the widget collects is sent directly to your own account. Once a Business ID is saved, the settings screen also shows a “Try your chatbot” box. Typing a question there and clicking Ask sends your Business ID and whatever you typed to `https://www.chatcobalt.com/api/preview-chat`, purely so the reply can be shown to you on that same screen — it is never saved as a lead or a conversation, and nothing is sent unless you click Ask yourself. ## Ynstallaasje 1. Upload and activate the plugin (Plugins Add New search “Chat Cobalt”, or Upload Plugin with the zip). 2. Go to Chat Cobalt in the left-hand menu. 3. Paste in your Business ID (find it in your dashboard, under “Embed code”). 4. Click Save changes. The chat widget will now appear on every page of your site, styled with the brand color detected on your website when you signed up. ## FAQ ### Where do I find my Business ID? Log in to your dashboard and look for the “Embed code” section — your Business ID is the value after `data-business-id=`. ### How does it know my brand color? When you signed up, we looked at your website and picked out the color you use for branding. The first time you save your Business ID, this plugin asks the server for that color and fills it into the “Accent color” field for you. You can change it to any color you like, or clear the field to go back to the default blue. ### Does this slow down my site? The widget script loads asynchronously and only adds one small script tag to your footer — it doesn’t block your page from rendering. ### Can I remove the widget from just one page? Not in this version — it shows on every front-end page. Deactivating removes the widget immediately.
